Catching Up With Projects
I have been trying to catch up on my to make list. I've been able to check a few things off. The rest is going to have to wait until after my surgery on October 8th. Excuse the quality of my photos. I took most of these in my terribly lit bathroom. :/
This is a super awesome bag from the Weekend Sewing book. It holds a ton of stuff!

The Lickety Split Bag. Absolutely LOVE this pattern. It was simple and quick. And it is adorable! I plan on making a bunch of these. This one is corduroy and cotton fabric.
I think the doll is adorable but I didn't care for the construction of it. I want to try this one again. She is out of the Wee Wonderfuls book.
Another doll from the same book. I absolutely love this doll! The girl she went to live with loved her too.
Sorry about the awful photo, I used my cell phone. This is hanging above Sid's bed. It says DREAM. I love the vintage dresser knobs I used to hang the banner. They are pink crystal, wish the photo showed them clearly.

My Garden
Here is a recent photo of the yard. We've been working on it here and there. Darren finished the chicken's yard. He built a compost bin which you can see to the right of the chicken's fence. He also built a third veggie bed, so I can to do some fall/winter planting this year.
Here are two of my veggie beds. There is zucchini, papaya pear squash, serrano peppers, yellow peppers, bell peppers, green beans, butternut squash and swish chard planted here.

Finally Something To Show For The Time I've Been Away
I have been terrible about blogging for quite some time now. I have been preoccupied with other projects around the house. Trying to get everything finished before I have to go in for major neck surgery. But I finally have a sewing project to show!

MIA
I know, I know I haven't posted anything in such a long time! I don't have a good excuse as to why. I have just been doing other things than blogging. I do however have some new photos to share. My husband and I have been working hard on our chicken coop. Ok, so it's more like a chicken chateau than a coop, lol. We haven't quite finished, but almost there. All that is left is to paint their fence.

I Couldn't Help It
We have had our chicks for two weeks now, and they have grown SO much. From the beginning I had a plan to have three chicks, one for each of the Gurranimals. We had to wait for the third chick because we wanted an Easter Egger, an Americana which lays green and blue eggs. The feed store was getting a shipment of them on the 8th. So we made our way to the feed store looking forward to picking out our chick. When we got there we saw that they also got some Australorps. Yea, guess what we came home with. It could have been worse, if the kids had their way we would have brought home all 100 of the chicks they had! And of course three more sweet as could be baby black bunnies! So I think I showed some restraint in only bring home one extra chick!

Chicks
So, either this is the best and funnest idea I have had....or I am off my rocker. If you ask my husband, he would say for sure I am off my rocker. But thankfully he is very tolerant of my bright ideas. Good thing because he has to build me a chicken coop! I finally got some chicks.
Meet Boo and Omelet.
They are three days old in this photo. They were hanging out while I put their temporary home together.
Oh my, they sure are adorable!
Here they are are hanging out in their new temporary home. In about 4 weeks they can be moved into their new home outside. Hopefully my dear husband will be able to get it built!
I painted the sign to hang on the coop. I can't wait to see it all finished!
Gardening
I haven't been doing much crafting lately. I haven't been very motivated to sew, although I have a stack of things waiting to be made. I have been gardening though.
Here is one of my garden beds. You can see the corner of the other one, there are two of them. There are also pots all over the yard filled with veggies.
I planted peas, green beans, cow peas, green bell peppers, red bell peppers, purple bell peppers, white bell peppers, sweet peppers, jalapeno peppers, Anaheim peppers, papaya pear squash, radishes, zucchini, yellow squash, butternut squash, soy beans, basil, parsley, cilantro, a few different types of tomatoes, rosemary, ruby red corn, white corn and pumpkins. I hope everything does well this year. I am excited to be trying a few new things that I haven't grown in the past.

Pixie Power Photo of the Month
It's that time already! Here is February's Pixie Power Photo.
Sid was awfully quiet, so I thought I should check on her. She was sitting behind the chair I was in and she found my tinted lip balm in my purse that was hanging on the chair. I don't think she's quite ready for make-up just yet!
Sneak Peek
I have actually finished this quilt but haven't had a chance to take a photo. So here is just a little peek, it was about 1/2 done when I took this.
