Changing Pad & Pacifier Leash

I needed a quick gift (as if I didn't already make a ton of stuff for her, hehe) to take to my niece who is having a baby ANY DAY. C'mon baby Wyatt, it's time to come out and play! I just need to get a cute BOY pacifier to attach to the leash. I borrowed the Pixie Chicks for the picture. She didn't miss it though, she never uses it. She prefers her thumb which is great, I don't need a leash for that!

I think the Pixie Chick needs one of these for her diaper bag. Something bright and girly!

Groovy Baby, Groovy!

I bought a pattern for this sweet outfit, BUT when I went to make it the directions were missing. That's ok, I was feeling adventurous. I decided I didn't need no stinkin directions, lol! I cut out the pieces and assembled it the way I felt like it. I think it came out pretty cute. It looks nothing like the garment on the front of the pattern packet though. I was a little disappointed that my fabric choice makes her look like a throwback from the 60's . The fabric itself is beautiful, I just think it is a little busy all together.

The back is super cute, it has elastic across the top of it.

I decided that the outfit was too busy so I took off the pants and paired the dress with leg warmers I made from women's socks. I think it is really cute, exactly Sid's style! I'll have to find a cute top to go with the pants now.

Another New Dress

I couldn't wait to make another dress for the Pixie Chick so after dropping Liam off for class this morning we ran over to the fabric store. A couple of hours later, Sid had another pretty dress.

Sid's New Fall Dress

I bought the cutest pattern for the Ava Knot Dress last night from Romeo & Mae. I received it this morning and by this evening Sidney had a new dress! I love it, and it was really easy to make. Great pattern! She'll be getting a few more of these.

Liam's Quilt

I finished Liam's quilt yesterday. He was a very happy boy when I gave it to him, still warm from the dryer. Today I made a matching pillow case from the leftover backing fabric.
He's pretty happy that he has a quilt just like his "cousin" Little E's.

Birthday Gift for Kennedy

These items are for my friends daughter who will be 8 in a few days.
Cute little birdie. I filled it with lavender, so it smells really yummy. And it matches the pillow for her bedroom.

The inside. The lining is flannel, and it is super soft.

Another Finished Quilt

Ok, first of all sorry for the lousy photos. But I couldn't wait to show it, so here it is. This one is for my Goddaughter.

YAY It's Finished!

I am so very proud of my quilt! It was a lot easier than I had expected it to be. I don't know why I was so afraid of quilting. Now I want to try something harder. This was pretty good for a first project though, I got the idea of piecing everything together and I hand sewed binding for the first time. It didn't take very long either, I finished it in two afternoons. It would have gone quicker if I didn't have three kids that were not interested in watching me sew.

Sneak Peak

I started on a quilt for my Godson today. It is his Xmas present. I am happy with it so far. I haven't made many quilts, and the ones I have made were very basic. They all had one solid fabric on one side and a different solid fabric on the other, I have never actually cut strips and squares. So this is new for me. I figured it was about time I gave it a try. So here is just a tiny look, of course when it is finished I will post the whole quilt.

Fabric Baskets

I saw this tutorial for fabric baskets on Pink Penguin and filed it away in my "to do" list. Then I saw the basket my friend Jen made and remembered the tutorial that had been buried in my pile of stuff. Thanks to Jen and the scraps of fabric she already had cut out and ready to go, I made these two baskets yesterday. And of course I stuffed them full of sewing stuff the moment I finished them. I didn't even remember to take photos of them first. So here they are full of stuff because I was too lazy to empty them!

Sharing

I just spent the last 3 hours laying in bed with my beloved laptop, searching this fantastic blog.
I loved the blog so much I thought I should share it. Someday I hope to have even a small amount of the talent this woman has.

I spent the day sewing this new bag, I absolutely love it. The pattern is out of this book, The New Handmade: Simple Sewing for Contemporary Style. There are lots of really cute patterns in the book.

Pixie Power Photo of the Month

Here's the Pixie Power Photo of the Month for August. How cute is she with the bowl of apples she stole from her brother.

Pillowcase

It was time to make another pillowcase for Sid. I love this Pebbles Flintstone fabric.

Cuff Bracelets

I made a few of these today for my Gurranimals. I only photographed the boys cuffs and I forgot to photograph Sidney's, but hers has Pebbles Flintstone on it.

Ethan, only willing to show his arm for the photo.
Liam rocking out and modeling his new cuff.

Post It Holders

I came across this adorable idea while searching through blogs one day. Of course I had to make some of my own. I think they turned out really cute.
